Check availability at the exact address
Coverage maps lie at the street level. Check the exact new address on each provider's own site: one side of a street can have fibre while the other does not. Note the install lead time each provider quotes while you are there.
Order with an install date on or before move-in
Ask for the earliest slot on or before your move-in date, and record the confirmation number and window. Ordering is not installed: track the difference honestly, because it is exactly the gap people fall into.
Confirm two days out
Two days before the appointment, confirm the tech is still coming and that someone can be there. If the window slipped, escalate then, with days in hand, not on move day.
Have a first-night fallback
If the install is not confirmed by move-in: charge a hotspot or check your phone plan's tethering allowance. Working internet on night one is a first-night basic, not a luxury.
A move is the cheap moment to switch

Use a charged hotspot or phone tethering as the bridge, and escalate the install with the provider's moving or retention line rather than the general queue. That is also why the confirmation call two days out exists.
